It has been a while since we featured a series on this blog so here you go: a new series on clinical data warehouses. In particular we will focus on the differences between data warehouses and clinical data warehouses. We will cover three common mistakes healthcare system administrators make when designing data warehouses for clinical:

• Using the wrong clinical data model
• Provisioning data that nobody needs or wants
• Creating a warehouse that leads only to wasted time and money

We will not only look at these common mistakes but also simple ways that they can be avoided.
